Which workshop do you work in?
I work in the Interior Shop.
Tell us about your daily tasks:
My daily tasks include laminating, painting, bonding, upholstering, thermoplastic welding, plotting (producing stickers and stencils for painting work), color mixing, spot repair, as well as airbrushing components. We repair all plastic parts and everything installed in the aircraft – for example, galleys, lavatories, walls, and cockpit parts. You could even say I’m something like a “plastic surgeon” for airplanes.
In addition, I serve as an inspector for components in this department (Interior Shop) and coordinate the workflow for complete cabin overhauls of aircraft.
Since when have you been working at RAS, and what do you enjoy about your work here?
I have been working at RAS since April 2012, and what I particularly enjoy is the versatility of my job.
Which project did you enjoy the most?
I especially liked the project in Namibia, where we carried out maintenance work on an aircraft. I enjoyed setting up the workstation there to meet European standards.
