How long have you been working at RAS?
I officially joined RAS on May 16, 1989 – many of my colleagues today hadn’t even been born back then. Before my time at RAS, I completed my training as an aircraft mechanic in Bonn. After a short period as a trainee, I was recruited by the German Armed Forces. Later, when I joined RAS, I was officially employed as a trainee to become a certifying staff member for aviation equipment.
What do you enjoy about your work at RAS?
It’s the variety of tasks and the fact that I never quite know what the new day will bring or how it might change my schedule. But above all, it’s the collaboration with my colleagues that stands out the most for me.
Which project did you enjoy the most?
As an “aviation geek,” I’ve had the chance to do and experience many exciting things in and for our company – whether as a participant in a training course with subsequent license acquisition, as an instructor, or in AOG situations when an aircraft had to be made airworthy again. However, if I had to highlight something truly special, it would be the 15 years I spent overseeing the Beech 1900D aircraft of the Swiss Air Force.
